Information Technology Unit

Overview

The Information Technology Unit supports the technical infrastructure of the faculty, and also provides a wide range of services and facilities to support faculty members, employees and students with their different technical needs.

Information Technology Unit services include two main fields:

-Technical Support:

The Unit provides technical support to enhance the use of modern technology in the academic field and secure faculty users of internet services. It also provides services related to the installing and updating of different software, print services and audio-visual media.

-Development and implementation:

The unit develops and implements some requirements and applications required for the administration or faculty members to support educational course and administrative procedures in the faculty.

Information Technology Unit Tasks

• Providing vital infrastructure of information technology and its applications to satisfy the needs of all users.
• Building and applying pioneering practices in information technology that guarantee the safety, security, reliability, availability and quality of information.
• Providing an environment to the user  conducive to user-awareness of information technology regarding the availability of services, solutions and techniques.
• Preparing the programs required to improve the skills of the faculty members in using information technology and telecommunications in their work.
• Helping, motivating and encouraging faculty members to build, improve and modernize their websites.
• Supervising the operation and following up of computer laboratories in the Faculty.
• Providing flexible and creative solutions for information technology.
• Designing  effective plans to develop the Information Technology Unit.
• Developing reports about the major performance indicators of Information Technology.
